Anglo American pleases investors with $1.5bn sale of Niobium and Phosphates busines

Anglo American jumped to the top of the FTSE 100 this morning after receiving a better price for its niobium and phosphates business than many observers had been expecting. The South Africa-based miner is to sell the Brazil-based arm to China Molybdenum for $1.5bn (£1bn) in cash. Most analysts had been expecting the business to fetch around $1bn. Indonesia says Freeport stake worth $630 mln -mining ministry

China investment in Indonesia surges

JAKARTA: Chinese investment in Indonesia jumped five-fold in the first quarter, highlighting the importance of the country to the growth prospects of South-East Asia’s largest economy.
