BHP, Vale face $7bn Brazilian lawsuit over dam burst

The Brazilian Government is planning to sue BHP Billiton and its partner Vale for more than $7 billion over the deadly collapse of a mine dam.

The Brazilian Government is expected to file a civil suit today demanding $20 billion reais ($7.4 billion) in damages over the Samarco mine disaster, Brazil’s Attorney General’s office said late on Friday.
