CVMR and AREVA Announce an Alliance for Metal Powder Production and Refining Facilities

Toronto, Ontario (PRWEB) November 03, 2014

Chairman and CEO of CVMR® Corporation (CVMR®) of Canada, Kamran M. Khozan, and Tara Neider, President and CEO of AREVA Federal Services LLC (AFS), a U.S. subsidiary of AREVA, announce an alliance for the deployment of metal powder production, refining and manufacturing plants in the United States. The plants will position CVMR® as the industry leader for powdered metal production based on their proprietary systems and technology. The projects will include research and production facilities and balance of plant infrastructure. AFS will provide engineering, procurement and construction management services under the direction of CVMR®. CVMR® will develop the plants as part of a global initiative for fully integrated metal extraction, refining and manufacturing operations. CVMR® has completed the process conceptual design and budgeting, the initial activity in this USA program. AFS will start the industrial production plant conceptual design and cost estimate in 2014 with early completion in first quarter 2015.

AFS brings a comprehensive set of services and experience in advanced technology projects involving design, construction, licensing and commissioning. These skills and capabilities are especially relevant in scaling technology solutions to new production sites, extending smaller operations into larger facilities, and maintaining an emphasis on project management, quality assurance, and environmental, health and safety.

“The resources of AFS are complementary to the rapid development of our projects and expeditious delivery of advanced materials to industry.” Mr. Khozan stated.

“AFS is pleased to support CVMR in this critical metals manufacturing industry sector” stated Ms. Neider.

CVMR® is currently developing other metal production facilities around the world as part of their planned vertically integrated metals organization and is working as well with a number of NGOs and governments in support of local infrastructure development in a number of African countries.
