KNOXVILLE (WATE) – CVMR Corporation is relocating their international headquarters to Oak Ridge’s Innovation Valley and creating hundreds of new jobs.
The move is expected to create 620 new jobs and 313 million dollars in capital investment.
“It’s important our state continue to win research and development operations because they mean higher paying jobs, but they they also say something about who we are as a state,” said Gov. Bill Haslam.
CVMR Corporation’s headquarters was formerly located in Toronto, Canada. The company engages in mining and metal refining and processing.
“Tennessee has a business-friendly government, has UT with bright young engineering grads, has ORNL and a first-class infrastructure,” said Kamran M. Khozan, Chairman and CEO, CVMR (USA) Inc.
The Oak Ridge facility will house its corporate headquarters, customer support and planning offices for United States production facilities.
“It helps us get our technologies out into the market place, creating jobs, creating wealth and raising the standard of living through better products that may be sold all over the world,” said Thom Mason, director of ORNL.
The University of Tennessee is a key collaborator with CVMR Corporation according to University of Tennessee President Joe DiPietro.
A large portion of the plant will be dedicated to the production of metal powders used in 3D Printing.
